This Friday we look back just 1 year to the 2019 SSA conference. In this video, Professor Colin Drummond reflects on his career and his current research programme ahead of giving the society lecture. He talks about funding for alcohol treatment and the commissioning challenges of providing both specialist services and brief interventions. He also talks about the importance of developing new ways of working with people who have multiple morbidities and the role that research can play in demonstrating the value of such interventions. Value not just in terms of cost savings, but according to what is valued by people accessing alcohol treatment.
