Find out below if you are eligible to apply for support to attend our 2024 Annual Conference in Newcastle upon Tyne.
The SSA funds a limited number of supported places for people who would like to attend the Annual Conference, but who would find it difficult due to the cost of the ticket, travel, and accommodation.
The following groups of people are encouraged to apply:
- undergraduate or master’s students who are currently ‘unwaged’ (e.g. not in paid work, retired) and have applied to deliver an oral or poster presentation at the conference
- people from third-sector substance use or gambling organisations (e.g. volunteers, workers, or service users)
We would also be happy to receive applications from people in other circumstances that aren’t covered above.
If you are offered a supported place, the SSA will cover the cost of the conference ticket, and fund up to £200 towards the cost of travel and accommodation.
