Biography
Dr Sharon Cox is a psychologist with nearly 20 years’ academic and clinical experience studying substance addictions and harm reduction. She is currently Principal Research Fellow in Behavioural Science and Health in the Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group at UCL. Sharon’s research has a particular focus on tobacco dependence treatment within communities facing severe and multiple disadvantage. She is interested in addressing how social determinants influence uptake and use of mainstream smoking cessation treatments and act as wider barriers to tobacco harm reduction.
Declaration of interests
Sharon is employed in the Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group at UCL’s Department of Behavioural Science and Health and is Deputy Director for Behavioural Research UK (BRUK). Sharon is a member and past president of the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco Europe (SRNT-E) and a senior editor for Addiction.
