Kazakhstan has introduced mandatory labelling for tobacco products to ensure market transparency and prevent the distribution of counterfeit goods. Filtered cigarette packets must display a unique identifier and a Data Matrix code with the manufacturer’s information. The new labelling regulations do not yet apply to other tobacco products such as cigars, cigarillos or heated tobacco products.
