The SSA is now accepting applications for two of its flagship funding schemes:
PhD studentships
The SSA offers up to two PhDs in addiction science each year.

Stipend of £19,237 for people living outside London; £21,237 for people living inside London | Exclusive opportunities to build your CV – for example, by becoming a host of the Addiction Audio podcast or joining one of the SSA’s internal committees |
Support for the cost of tuition (indicative annual UK university fees / maximum annual contribution toward fees for international students of £4,786) | Access to addiction research, treatment, and policy experts through the SSA’s trustees, staff, working groups, and conferences |
Up to £3,000 over the course of the PhD for research costs | Free attendance at the SSA’s two-day Annual Conference |
Academic fellowships
The SSA typically offers one fellowship per year.

How to apply
The PhD studentship and fellowship schemes are open to SSA members and associates who share the SSA’s commitment to advance the scientific understanding of addictive products and behaviours and the use of this knowledge in policy and practice.
