Biography
Professor Leonie Brose is a senior member of the Nicotine Research Group at King’s College London and Deputy Director of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Policy Research Unit (PRU) in Addictions. Most of her research has focused on tobacco control policy, smoking cessation, the relationship between smoking and mental health, vaping (e-cigarettes), and novel nicotine products.
Leonie is actively involved in several professional organisations, including the Society for the Study of Addiction (SSA) and the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco (SRNT). She is also Programme Lead for the MSc Addictions course at King’s College London.

Leonie is employed by King’s College London. Leonie is a member of the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco (SRNT), an Advisory Council member for Action on Smoking and Health (ASH), an Associate Editor for Addiction and a Deputy Editor for Nicotine and Tobacco Research. Leonie currently (November 2024) receives research funding from the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR).
